Dhaka, June 11, 2014 – An Agreementhas been signed between PDS Multinational Group and International humanitarian and development organization HOPE worldwide for a five year’s long primary school program. The agreement has been signed at the Dhaka office (House-517/2, Road-10, DOHS Baridhara) of Norwest Industries Ltd, a concern of PDS Multinational Group.
Representative of PDS Multinational Group Mr. Carlos M Coene, CEO of Norwest Industries Ltd has signed the agreement. Mr. Martin Animesh Byapari, Program Director received the agreement on behalf of HOPE worldwide. High officials from both organizations were also present during the program.
The school will be operated to educate the children of the garments workers who died or were injured during the Rana Plaza collapse. 150 children will be tutored in a semi English medium school, with nutritious midday meals being served every day. The school will also help young people from the area through vocational training (including Spoken English, computer, Industrial Sewing Machine Operator and other "soft skills" training).
